Legal costs and other costs incurred are additional and are the responsibility of the participant. This program is only available to CECA members and is funded by AAEPC as an additional benefit to members. These law firms have agreed to make their lawyers available to CSLEA members at any time of the day or night, and are therefore prepared to respond to incidents such as shootings with officers, which often occur in the middle of the night.

DFL may also act as a representative if an issue is of such importance that it benefits all CSLEA members. DFL does not cover claims for conduct outside the normal course and scope of employment, retirement or workers` compensation. If coverage is denied by the Legal Administrator, a member may appeal to DFL`s Board of Directors, which consists of a Chair, 2 Regular Directors and 1 Deputy Director appointed by the President of the CSLEA.
