Legal Hunting Hours Ks

To qualify as a non-resident landowner, a person must own a farm or ranch in simple possession with their name on the deed. Property owned by a trust, LLC, partnership or other legal entity belongs to that legal entity. Permits for land owned by a corporation are only available to tenants who cultivate at least 80 hectares or manage a farm of 80 hectares or more that produces an agricultural product such as grain or livestock. Serving as a director, trustee, non-executive partner, or other similar position does not qualify a person for a Kansas landowner deer license. For more details, call (620) 672-5911 and ask law enforcement. Many state and federal wildlife preserves have sanctuaries as well as public hunting grounds. These shelters may be closed to all activities during the hunting season. Check with local offices for shelter boundaries and closing dates. It is legal to take migratory birds such as waterfowl, coots and cranes on or over the following areas or areas not otherwise baited: (i) You must remove portable blinds and decoys at the end of each hunting day (see § 27.93 of this chapter). Deer adapt to hunting pressure and find areas where they can avoid hunters. In some cases, these areas are created because a particular landowner wants to restrict or prohibit hunter access. Protected areas serve as sanctuaries and can result in future herd growth and greater damage to deer on nearby or other properties where protected deer spend time when the hunting season is closed. There are several hunting programs in Kansas, such as the Sportsmen Assist Disabled Sportsmen program, which brings together disabled hunters and outdoor partners.

The walk-in access program allows landowners to open private properties for public hunting of a variety of game. Deer hunters can take advantage of the Hunter Referral Program, which offers landowners with large deer herds the opportunity to open their land to hunting. NOTE: All hunting, trapping and racing seasons for furbearers begin at 12:01 p.m. on opening day and end at midnight on rest day. Federal stamps on ducks must be signed on the front of the stamp and worn during waterfowl hunting. Federal duck stamps are available at U.S. Postal Service and KDWPT offices. Hunters purchasing an electronic stamp must carry their 45-day receipt when hunting waterfowl. After the 45-day e-stamp receipt expires, hunters must carry their valid signed federal duck stamp (a purchase or credit card receipt is not valid as a duck stamp). Kansas waterfowl permits are available at all KDWPT offices and permit providers.
