Finning Machine Definition

The No. 5 Applied Finned Tube Machine is capable of producing five basic fin types on incremental tube sizes from 9/16″ (14.29 mm) to 2″ (50.8 mm) fin height from 1/4″ (6.35 mm) to 1″ (25.4 mm) to 4 to 13 fins per inch. In addition, the No.5 Applied finned tube machine has the ability to apply 5/8″ carbon steel recessed fins to pipe sizes of 1″ and above, as well as 3/8″ high integrated stainless steel fins. Each machine is configured for the specific production requirements of the end user. The No.5 machine is offered in two basic configurations®: The excellent src finned tubes resistant to corrosion and frost are manufactured in SPG Dry Cooling`s state-of-the-art factories. Earl B. Finning started the finning business in Western Canada in 1933. The company grew, and by 1965 it had more than a thousand employees and annual sales of up to $78 million. In 1969, Finning went public and his common shares began trading on the Vancouver and Toronto stock exchanges under the symbol FTT. Finning remains one of the few Caterpillar dealers listed on the stock exchange. In 1983, Finning acquired the right to represent Caterpillar in the West of England, Wales and Scotland. In 1989, Finning expanded into Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

In the production of finned tubes, corrosion protection processes are carried out and the material used is corrosion resistant. Some types of finned tubes are: Finning employs more than 13,000 people worldwide and operates in three regions (Western Canada, South America, UK and Ireland) with its headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Today, Finning operates in six countries with annual revenue of $6.2 billion (2017) and is the world`s largest Caterpillar dealer. [3] In South America, Finning`s regional headquarters are located in Santiago, Chile, and product support services are offered in Chile, Argentina and Bolivia. Finning is a Canadian distributor of industrial machinery specializing in Caterpillar products. She is responsible for the sale, lease and supply of parts and services for equipment and engines to customers in industries such as mining, construction, petroleum, forestry and a variety of energy systems applications. According to the company, it is the largest Caterpillar dealership in the world. [3] A finned tube is a tube with small fins around the outer surface. These fins act as a filter and mechanism to transfer heat from the material inside the pipe to the outside space or vice versa. Finned tubes are used in applications that require heat transfer from a hot liquid to a cooler liquid through the pipe wall. The speed at which such heat transfer takes place depends on three factors: in Western Canada, Finning offers product services in British Columbia, Yukon, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories and part of Nunavut. The regional government is located in Edmonton, Alberta.

NOTE: For both configurations, the typical rack length is 40 feet long (about 12 meters), other lengths are also available to meet customer requirements. CONTACT US FOR MORE INFORMATION. SPG Dry Cooling is one of the world`s leading suppliers of air-cooled condensers and chillers with equipment installed worldwide. We offer different dry cooling solutions that fall under many international patents. SPG Dry Cooling employs 700+ professionals worldwide and can operate in conditions in all climates. Until 2003, Finning was the sole Caterpillar equipment dealer in England, Scotland, Wales, Chile, Argentina and Bolivia. In 2004, Finning invested in OEM Manufacturing, a component conversion plant located in Edmonton, Alberta. Finning was appointed dealer in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland in 2010 and Finning acquired the rights to represent Caterpillar in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan in 2015. There are several types and shapes of finned tubes, including round tubes, oval tubes, or flat tubes.

Glulam carbon steel tube flat tubes with aluminum brazed fins, called SRC©, are state-of-the-art for air-cooled condensers in power plants. Finned tubes are the main components of heat exchangers. It is a series of tubes where fins have been added to the outside to increase the area of contact with the outer liquid, exchange heat and between the liquid in the tube and the liquid outside the tube. Finned tubes are elongated flat tubes made of aluminum-coated carbon steel with brazed aluminum fins. Discover the production process of our finned tubes: Finned tube manufacturers produce a wide range of finned tubes®. They are used in heat exchangers (air, water and chemically cooled) for various industries such as petroleum, petrochemicals, steel, power generation and many others.
